Frequently asked questions
What happens to my data if I cancel?
Your server data, worlds, and backups are retained for 30 days after cancellation. You can export everything as a ZIP archive from the dashboard at any time. After 30 days, all data is permanently deleted from our systems.
Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan?
Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade at any time from the billing dashboard. Upgrades are effective immediately and prorated for the remainder of the billing period. Downgrades take effect at the start of the next billing cycle.
Is self-hosting available?
Absolutely. CraftCtrl is fully open source under the MIT License. You can deploy the entire platform on your own Kubernetes cluster at no cost. The self-hosted version has full feature parity with the managed cloud offering.
How does sleep/wake billing work?
We bill by server-hours. When your server is in the sleeping state (no players, automated hibernation), compute resources are released and you are not charged for that time. You only pay for active server-hours. Storage costs (for worlds, backups) are always billed regardless of server state.
Do you offer a free tier?
We offer a 14-day free trial on all paid plans — no credit card required. After the trial, plans start at $9.99/month. CraftCtrl is also free to self-host forever under the MIT license.
What Minecraft server types are supported?
We support all major server types: Vanilla, Paper, Spigot, Purpur, Fabric, Forge, and more. Version management lets you switch between any Minecraft version. Modpacks can be deployed via the plugin manager.
